Marshall House (Dodona Manor) Tour

March 23 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Sponsored by CFC Men’s Ministry and open to all! The Marshall House was the home of Army General and Mrs. George C. Marshall from 1941 to 1959.  During these years, General Marshall served as Army Chief of Staff (1939-1945), Presidential Envoy to China (1946), Secretary of State (1947-48), President of the American Red Cross (1949) and Secretary of Defense (1950-51).  This 216-year-old home and its grounds has been restored to their 1950s’ condition.

The tour runs 90-120 minutes and covers history of the house and the lives of General George and Katherine Marshall.  The tour is preceded with a presentation by Marshall biographer and historian, Rachel Thompson.  The tour and Mrs. Thompson’s remarks include General Marshall’s Christian faith and timeless values and principles of lives of service and devotion to family, friends and country.

Climbing stairs is involved.  Children welcomed but age 9 or older will get most out of the tour.
