Mission Trip FAQ
Have some questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
- Be prayerful in your decision to go on a mission trip. We caution against taking on any debt in order to attend a mission trip.
- If necessary, plan far in advance so that you have adequate time to raise the funds. A mission trip should not be a source of financial stress.
WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE?
If you are interested in joining a short-term missions trip, please see list of open trips: https://myrock.cfcwired.org/trips
What age groups can go on a trip? Each trip page will indicate if there is a specific group that the trip is recruiting for (ex. Young adults, women’s team, men’s team, medical etc). Most ages can travel on at least some of the trips we offer. A majority of our trips are intended to be family-friendly which means that children as young as 7-12 yrs-old by the timing of the trip, as long as they are accompanied by their parent or guardian, youth ages 13 and up by the timing of the trip, can participate in the trip without their parent participating; however, a ‘Waiver and Release For Youth Participants’ form is required in which a trip participating adult is designated as their guardian for the duration of the trip or the young person cannot attend. CFC Global Outreach reserves the right to decline participation in any mission trip.
Can I Join a Team if I Don’t Attend Christian Fellowship Church? The majority of applicants for short-term mission trips are CFC attendees; however, anyone can participate.

HEALTH-MEDICAL CONDITIONS/IMMUNIZATIONS/PRECAUTIONS

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
TECHNOLOGY ON TRIPS
Student trips don’t have an option, but those of you who do, we strongly encourage you to disconnect from the world at home as much as you can, in order to get the MOST out of your experience.
Consider cutting it off for your short time there. Disconnect in order to Connect! Try it! You won’t regret it!
TRIP EXTENSIONS
- The leisure extension will not interfere with the purpose of the trip – we will establish clear guidelines as to liability in the face of potential extensions.
LODGING/SHOWERS/FOOD/TOILETS
Unlike a career missionary who is fully integrated into the culture and country they are serving in, short term teams must maximize their usefulness in the short time they are traveling – so it is important that they remain healthy. Because of this, we always stay in guest houses or hotels with high standards of care – both in the rooms available and in the food served to guests.
DOCUMENTS & PRIVACY
Yes, a passport is required for international travel.
Obtain a current passport, not expiring within six months of the start date of trip. A copy is required in advance of the trip to keep on file in the CFC Global Outreach office.
LANGUAGES & LANGUAGE LEARNING
Our partner organizations provide wonderful interpreters to help our teams communicate. If you know the country’s main language, great! If not, don’t worry because you already speak the universal language of kids…it is called play! We do strongly encourage that you try and learn a bit of the native language before you go. For most activities though, there will be a few translators available.
INTERACTING WITH KIDS
You can play games, sports, crafts and tons of other stuff! You can also ask them to help you learn their language and teach you the names of objects nearby if you want.
