The Great Generosity Scavenger Hunt

The Great Generosity Scavenger Hunt was, well… GREAT!

The energy was high as families and students formed teams and accepted the challenge to head into the One Loudoun community for The Hunt. This year wasn’t simply locating items on a list; it was about seeing the people around us, noticing God’s presence, creating memories together, and living out the ROOTED Rhythms through the Fun of the Hunt.

Teams had opportunities to practice Sacrificial Generosity, share their Story, pause for Prayer, and look for ways to Worship God by noticing His presence and joining Him in what He was already doing in the community. These weren’t just activities to check off a list; they were simple, tangible ways to practice the rhythms of following Jesus in everyday life.

One of the final challenges, capture a photo that best illustrated what it means to be the CFC Church beyond the walls of our building. Teams returned to campus ready to share the stories behind their photos, what they saw, who they encountered, and why those moments mattered.

And the stories reminded us that generosity doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be a meal paid for by a stranger or an unexpected gift of a bouquet of flowers. One family team purchased and donated their favorite childhood books to a young family. Sometimes it is simply noticing the person in front of us and choosing to respond with kindness and encouragement.

Great energy. Great generosity. Great stories. Great fun. And a GREAT reminder that we are The Church.
