Melissa Wells, Missionary to the Czech Republic

by Mike Trivett

Melissa Wells never imagined that missions would become her life’s calling. As a young person, she had little desire to travel or spend holidays away from family. Yet God had other plans.

What began as a reluctant trip became a life-changing encounter with God. Away from the busyness of life in the United States, Melissa learned to hear His voice more clearly, discovered her identity in Christ, and found her passion for missions.

Today, Melissa serves in the Czech Republic, ministering among women and children affected by human trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. God has given her a heart for some of society’s most vulnerable people, and she seeks to be a voice for those who have none.

As Proverbs 31:8 reminds us, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”

Human trafficking remains a devastating reality in the Czech Republic and around the world. Survivors often face enormous challenges as they rebuild their lives, including trauma, fear, and limited access to long-term support. Melissa works alongside individuals who have experienced unimaginable hardship, offering practical care, compassionate relationships, and the hope of the Gospel.

Through her ministry, Melissa reminds those who feel forgotten, discarded, and without hope that they are seen, loved, and valued by God. She serves as an advocate for the vulnerable, helping people find healing, dignity, and restoration through Jesus Christ.

Melissa’s story is a powerful reminder that God often calls us beyond our comfort zones and uses our obedience to bring light into some of the darkest places on earth.

Please pray for Melissa, for the women and children she serves, and for God’s transforming work in the Czech Republic.
